Georgian Place Plays Host to Celebration

The merchants and businesses at Georgian Place are inviting the community to a Rejuvenation Celebration today through Sunday at the shopping and office village in Somerset.
There will be prizes, discounts, special events and entertainment throughout the weekend. Customers can bring their own lawn chairs to watch entertainment on the courtyard lawn.
Georgian Place began to reinvent itself four years ago with medical and professional offices, a fitness center and several service-oriented businesses anchoring a group of outlet and independent retailers.
The facility recently added several new businesses. Hexie’s High Country Mercantile opened in Suite 405. The shop features a variety of items, including Talavera Animals made in Mexico, soy candles and bath and body products made daily in the store.
Pages & Light opened in the former Book Warehouse location. The bookstore features a large selection of used books, vinyl records, CDs, cassettes and movies, plus meditation and music related gifts.
SugarGrove Shoppes opened in Suite 111. The shop sells vitamins, herbs and teas, along with antiques.
Additionally, Laurel Arts Education and Dance Center opens this month in Suite 601, and the Laurel Highlands Model Railroad Club has a new home in Suite 209.
“It’s a very positive development having fresh and new entrepreneurial ventures and service oriented businesses join the established merchants and professionals,” Tonya Spangler, sales and leasing manager for the Georgian Place, said in a release.
“We’re looking at the big picture and future development of the center within the community and what the community needs.”
Georgian Place currently has 15 retail shops, 12 medical offices, four professional offices and four businesses in the service provider category.
